    Both Percy and Herder establish popular poetry within the horizon of modern literature, accentuating its strangeness compared to learned poetry or "Kunstdichtung". But there is a decisive difference between Percy's and Herder's handling of this strangeness. Percy tries to bridge the gap by way of historico-philological explanation and reconstruction. In the „Reliques“, he not only chooses, corrects and groups his poems. He also adds four historical essays to his edition […] and provides numerous introductory remarks, footnotes, bibliographical references, and glossaries of archaic words and idioms. Contrary to Percy, Herder preserves and even enforces the strangeness of the texts. On the other hand, he also wants his reader to bridge the gap […] through the modern reader's empathic grasping of the supposed archaic face-to-face-communication between poet-singer and audience. In order to reach this goal, the reader must try to supplement the fragmentary text through the intuition of the authentic situation in which the text originally was communicated. Such a supplement seems possible because popular poetry deals with stock situations common to all people. […] In order to reach this goal, by the way, Herder simulates in the „Auszug aus einem Briefwechsel“ and in the introduction to the „Volkslieder“ the same attitude which he wants to convey to his readers. Both essays display the rhetoric of an emphatic, fragmentary and consensual dialogue between friends.

    U radu je ponuđena raščlamba stilskih i govorničkih figura u poeziji i u putopisima fra Ivana Franje Jukića, angažiranoga franjevačkoga pisca i borca za političku samostalnsot Bosne. Autor je utvrdio da Jukić u svoj književni izraz unosi elemente narodnih govora, što se posebno zapaža u uporabi pučkih fraza i kolokacija. S druge strane, izbor tzv. knjiških figura otkriva utjecaj franjevačke tradicije, posebno jezika starijih franjevačkih ljetopisa. ; Poetry and travel books are the part of Jukić’s work in which his lyrical orientation, as well as his committment to Franciscan tradition, are most apparent. His four patriotic poems are aesthetically not as beautiful as his travel books, therefore the selection of language devices is poorer than in that particular prose genre. In his poetry, Jukić was not a significant role model among Franciscan writers, while the style of his travel books is similar to chronicles, which are present in Bosnian Franciscan literature in abundance. In Jukić’s time, the production of travel books in Europe and Croatia was flourishing, a fact that did not escape Jukić. Linguistically and in terms of content, Jukić’s travel books can be placed between Mažuranić’s Pogled u Bosnu and Benić’s and Beltić’s chronicle.Jukić’s personal contribution can be recognized in his skilled narration,which is fairly extensive and rich in figures and word plays typical of folk literature. Jukić uses syntactic and lexical devices to rhetorical ends, as well as figures typical of homily (apostrophe, anaphora, appeal). The analysis of rhetorical and stylistic figures in poetry and travel books has proven the hypothesis that this part of Jukić’s work belongs to so-called “engaged literature”, which Jukić uses to attract the attention of his contemporaries to Bosnia, its political circumstances and its particularities unknown to the world.

    The article discusses a paradoxical gesture which is significant for the birth of modern philology and the widespread fascination with folk poetry in the nineteenth century. Scholars often consider the oral nature of these traditions as crucial for their aura. How do they cope with the fact that they have to represent the oral texts in print in order to rescue them for modern culture? The argument focuses on the example of the Brothers Grimm and their Children's and Household Tales. ; Gelehrte geben in Schrift und Druck Texte heraus, deren Aura für sie gerade auf ihrer mündlichen Natur beruht – diese paradoxe Geste ist bezeichnend für das 19. Jahrhundert, in dem die modernen Philologien entstanden und das Interesse an ‚Volksliteratur‘ weit verbreitet war. Der Beitrag geht ihr am Beispiel der Grimmschen Kinder- und Hausmärchen nach. ; Les érudits du XIXème siècle sont fascinés par le caractère oral des contes populaires alors même que, pour les conserver, ils les consignent par l’écrit – c’est là un geste paradoxal produit par l’intérêt croissant pour le conte populaire d’une part et de la naissance de la philologie moderne de l’autre. Afin d’examiner ce phénomène, le présent article prend l’exemple des Contes pour les enfants et la maisondes frères Grimm.
