    Abstract: Does such a thing as Indian Writing in English exist? Im Aufsatz, der in fünf Absätze gegliedert ist, möchte der Verfasser vor allem die Schwierigkeit dieser speziellen Genrebestimmung beleuchten. Die Werke der untersuchten Autoren und Autorinnen der Indischen Diaspora unterscheiden äußerst voneinander, sowohl in thematischer als auch stilistischer Hinsicht. Unter ihnen gibt es Romane und Erzählungen im klassischen Erzählstil von Autoren wie Naipaul, Ghosh, Lahiri, ... hauptsächlich gruppiert um Immigrationsthemen. Zugleich bemühen sich dagegen Autoren wie Rushdie, Roy, Tharoor, ... um Sprachzertrümmerung und um die Weiterentwicklung moderner Erzähltechniken. Nicht nur wird der große mannigfaltige geographische Raum Indien mit seinen Stärken und Schwächen geschildert, sondern es entstehen synchron Rave-Geschichten und Pop-Romane bei Rushdie und Kureishi.     Abstract: This study tries to expand the richness of Bakhtin's theory of novel by showing the reader that its thorough features could be traced back in a play rather than a novel, considering it more than what is usually the basis of "historical poetics" mainly in the form of a novel accentuating the constitution of a social ideology besides an individual one while gesturing dialogically in the interaction between representation in its textual form and particularities of its proper probable forces in their socio-historical stratifications within notions such as dialogism, intertextuality, heteroglossia and polyphony. To do so a successful Irish play of exuberance is invited to be served by a thinker from the past Soviet. Since the references are written in an artistic language, a language near to a poetic one tries to tinker rationality to irrationality.     Abstract: In her article "The politics of gender" Elaine Hobby gives a clear image of the confusion evoked in modern mentality by the juxtaposition of Renaissance literature and history. The romantic scenes portrayed in the wonderland of Renaissance poetry seem uncompromisable with the bare facts of historical record. As we contemplate the shadows obscuring the male permeated poetic language of the age however, we do discern spots of light illuminating the overall picture.     Abstract: Martin Amis's manipulation of the patriarchal concept of power is a notable indication of his transgressive attitudes that raise remarkable questions about the human identity. Transgressing power investigates the violation of the normal and familiar trends of literature in order to circulate a new discourse by which a new identity is reframed. Hence, the study of power in Martin Amis's novels, as an important technique of identity re-definition, is not taken into consideration in the light of Foucault's theory of power. The objective of this study is to examine the role applied by transgression as a technique of subverting the common discourse of power in the field of identity re-formation. The study investigates the concept of power manipulated in Amis's Money to define the identity of the "New Man". Accordingly, the Foucauldian theory of power is taken as a framework of this study.     Abstract: Nowadays is growing importance of interdisciplinary research and in the field of cultural diversity, multiculturalism and intercultural cooperation. It is important also to take into account the global processes of changes associated with the dissemination of digital information and communication technologies. One of the theories which are essential in this area of research is the concept by E. Sapir and B.L. Whorf.     Abstract: An imitation of the literary styles and modes of expression of the great writers in the post-World War II was the criterion of success for any male or female writer. The conventions of T.S. Eliot and W.H. Auden influenced the poetics and thought of the younger generation poets. For example, Adrienne Rich (1929-2012) was an ardent disciple of these conventions in her early career. She was influenced by the phallogocentric discourse of subject formation. She followed this man-made discourse to be accepted within the literary circle as a successful woman writer, but she realized that this discourse didn’t help women in the expression of their female voices. This study explores the failure of the phallogocentric techniques and modes of writing in the expression of Rich's female voice in An Unsaid Word (1951). The study is conducted in the light of Lacanian Symbolic system of identification. The study concludes that Lacanian system of identification was behind the distortions of meaning

    Abstract: 'Im Rahmen der post-positivistischen Neuorientierung der Sozial- und Humanwissenschaften hat sich ein verstärktes Interesse an der Erzählung und dem Erzählen herausgebildet. Dabei geht es nicht allein um ein weiteres Untersuchungsfeld, sondern um einen neuen intellektuellen Stil, der sich an hermeneutisch-interpretativen Traditionen orientiert. Im Rückgriff auf diskurspsychologische, konversationsanalytische, literaturwissenschaftliche und sprachphilosophische Überlegungen wird diskutiert, warum das Studium der Narration auch für die Psychologie eine viel versprechende Perspektive anbietet. In einer kritischen Diskussion herkömmlicher erzähl-theoretischer Konzeptionen wird dafür plädiert, das Erzählen als eine soziale und diskursive Praxis zu verstehen, und zwar im Sinne Wittgensteins als Sprachspiel und Lebensform.'     Although vastly influential in German-speaking Europe, conceptual history (Begriffsgeschichte) has until now received little attention in English. This genre of intellectual history differs from both the French history of mentalités and the Anglophone history of discourses by positing the concept - the key occupier of significant syntactical space - as the object of historical investigation. Contributions by distinguished practitioners and critics of conceptual history from Europe and America illustrate both the distinctiveness and diversity of the genre. The first part of the book is devoted to the origins and identity of the field, as well as methodological issues. Part two presents exemplary studies focusing either on a particular concept (such as Maurizio Viroli's 'Reason of the State') or a particular approach to conceptual history (e.g. Bernard Scholz for literary criticism and Terence Ball for political science). The final, most innovative section of the book looks at concepts and art - high, bourgeois and demotic. Here Bram Kempers discusses the conceptual history of Raphael's frescos in the Stanza della Segnatura of the Vatican; Eddy de Jongh examines the linguistic character of much Dutch genre painting; and Rolf Reichardt considers the conceptual structure implicit in card games of the French Revolution, used to induct those on the margins of literacy into the new revolutionary world-view.
