    Abstract: Martin Amis's manipulation of the patriarchal concept of power is a notable indication of his transgressive attitudes that raise remarkable questions about the human identity. Transgressing power investigates the violation of the normal and familiar trends of literature in order to circulate a new discourse by which a new identity is reframed. Hence, the study of power in Martin Amis's novels, as an important technique of identity re-definition, is not taken into consideration in the light of Foucault's theory of power. The objective of this study is to examine the role applied by transgression as a technique of subverting the common discourse of power in the field of identity re-formation. The study investigates the concept of power manipulated in Amis's Money to define the identity of the "New Man". Accordingly, the Foucauldian theory of power is taken as a framework of this study. The study reveals a conclusion in which the transgressive aspects of power are effectively utilized

    Abstract: Nowadays is growing importance of interdisciplinary research and in the field of cultural diversity, multiculturalism and intercultural cooperation. It is important also to take into account the global processes of changes associated with the dissemination of digital information and communication technologies. One of the theories which are essential in this area of research is the concept by E. Sapir and B.L. Whorf. The purpose of the article is to introduce into a current condition of scientific dispute concerning the views of these authors on the relationship between language and cognition. The analysis of lexical representations of German, Spanish and French about alimentation, especially meat, may allow a better insight in the imaginary linked with the latter. The analysis, although, shows that, in Spanish, meat stands symbolically for strength and that this strength has to be evacuated from the meat in German.     Abstract: Apart from classical ways of using narrative analysis in everyday communication as well as in linguistics and sociology (eh. 3) it is conceivable to detect the narrator's interest constellations (eh. 4) and a central stock of his general action capacities and specific institutional skills (eh. 2,5) by way of his retrospective interpretation in verbal off-hand narratives of his own past eonduct. His willingness to tell about personal experiences gets hirn into constraints to become more specific on the one hand, for if events are being told their respeetive consequences as new events have to be revealed etc. This constraint to become more specific brings up the narrator's former and partly (at the time of the narrative) still existent actual interest constellations, because those are motivating, constituting elements of the events to be told about.
