The critical edition of the poetic works of Paulinus of Nola which is the main aim of this thesis is the first one since Wilhelm von Hartel’s edition, realized at the end of the 19th century. It consists then in a global study of the textual tradition of Paulinus of Nola, based on all known manuscripts, study which founds a criticism of attribution based two on metrical, literary, theological, and cultural aspects of Paulinus’ works. The philological and codicological aspects of the question, mostly ignored, have been the subject of a special study, for they often meet the textual history of Ausonius, known as particularly difficult. This edition, preceded then by an introduction on textual history and stemmatic reconstruction, comes with the first full French translation of Paulinus’poetry in front of it. Annotation concentrates on problematics of textual drafting and history, and, through an apparatus of biblical and textual sources and parallels, on the place of Paulinus of Nola in the literary history of late Antiquity

In 1560, it's time for Ronsard to have a complete edition published. Between those two dates François 1st, Henri II and François II will follow each other on the throne. Under those three reigns, there are changes at the court and in the way the powerful relate to the numerous verse writers. The social and anthropological changes which take place have an influence on the aesthetic, the means of publication adopted by the poets. The purpose of this work is to show , within a real human comedy combining the use of verses and court relastionship, how networks are elaborated, how poets use them to take their own position in the society, how these social relations appear in their written work and what aesthetic transformations are implied by the schanges in the society. The study is first based on the court and on the relationships that poets can have with the prince and the people around him, depending on how close or on the contrary how left aside from this milieu they are or have the feeling they are. Then we will tackie the question of the gift and the counter-gift, which is at the core of the social relations initiated by the authors with their protectors as well as with their pears. Eventually we will analyse the way the relationships with the pears, friendly or conflictual, account for the position of authors in the curial and poetic environment as well as they contribute to the elaboration of contrasted aesthetic projects, enabling some, such as Ronsard, to impose their image as authors while others like Saint Gelais try their best to blur it

The renewal of interest for reality demonstrated by the litterary production, from the eighties onwards, is reflected by the more and more frequent presence into the published books of references to the mediatic universe, increasing its influence on everyday life, in particular by intensification of the audience of television. The writings of Marguerite Duras and Annie Ernaux give a striking testimony to the extension of this phenomenon. As members of different generations, they reveal, each one with their own lived experience, the historical evolutions of mass communication and of its influence on the perception of the world and the construction of public debate in the contemporary society. By uncommon practices of writing, renewing the political stakes of litterature, both of them contribute to question the representation of « reality » shown by the media. But the posture of commitment, precious to the post-Worl-War-2 writers, is complexified by the constraints boni with the promotion of culture throught the media. Whereas Marguerite Duras has played with the ambivalences of excessive meditization, Annie Ernaux has won the recognition of the public by keeping carefully distant with the visibility given by the media. However, wether subverting the mediatic standards or criticizing from the outside, both of them show how the literary discourse can become a space of specific expression by exchanging with the mass media and challenging them

During this period, the BBC opted for filmic choices very different from those of previous periods. They advertised for the new series highlighting the 'soap opera' aspects, openly acknowledging the fact that they were trying to conquer new audiences for adaptations of Victorian and Dickensian classics. My work brings to light the fact that televisual aesthetics have been profoundly renewed, deliberately centered on the reception and taking int account TV watchers's present habits. For the scenes' length and the conception of dialogues, the aesthetics is influenced by advertising, and relies on the commodification of objects and the symbolic dimension they have. Dickens's oeuvre is thus re-encoded for an easier perception of the plot, and can fit in with the horizon of expectations of TV watchers in the XXIst century.A reliance on the grotesque, farcical aspects and comic relief allows to recompose Dickens for a new audience whose knowledge of the source-text may be poor. Dickens is both transmitted and rewritten for the author's talent at denoucing the evils of society to serve new causes: racism, bigotry and sexual abuse are now denouced by Dickens's talent. His whole oeuvre is thus turned into a 'Christmas Carol' for end-of-the-year celebrations, and inducement to more congruence and decency, Television conveying this globalized ritual
