Mit bibliometrischen Analysen kann der Erfolg von wissenschaftlichen Arbeiten messbar dokumentiert werden. Dies ist ein wichtiger Aspekt gegenüber Entscheidungsträgern und Geldgebern, denn Forschungsgelder sind knapp und immer lauter wird die Frage, nach welchen Kriterien sie gerecht vergeben werden können.     This is a collection of all references found in a study of Shakespearean Intertextuality. I collected references to Shakespeare and his works in the complete works of 11 contemporary British writers. The corpus includes several hundred contemporary British texts, most of which were novels. A few graphic novels, collections of short stories and autobriographies make up the rest of the texts. All references are given with their context, the original line they quote, the texts they pertain to and a score that counts the verbatim referencing words in the contemporary texts.     Until now infrequent terms have been neglected in searching in order to save time and memory. With the help of a cascaded index and the introduced algorithms, such considerations are no longer necessary. A fast and efficient method was developed in order to find all terms in the largest freely available corpus of texts in the German language by exact search, part-word-search and fuzzy search. The process can be extended to include transliterated passages. In addition, documents that contain the term with a modified spelling, can also be found by a fuzzy search. Time and memory requirements are determined and fall considerably below the requests of common search engines.

    A description of the collection of Ethiopian manuscripts in the Bayerische Staatsbibliothek, Munich, can be found in the volumes of the Union Catalogue of Oriental Manuscripts in Germany (Verzeichnis der orientalischen Handschriften in Deutschland, VOHD). However, by 2016, the library’s holdings had been augmented by a further twenty Ethiopian manuscripts: some were donations, but most had been purchased atauctions. They are presented in this article according to the rules of the VOHD. Of the four Psalters, Cod. aethiop. 179, probably dating from the sixteenth century based on paleographic criteria, should be highlighted. Furthermore there are seven parchment scrolls and two leporello manuscripts. Also worth mentioning is a Senkessār for the second part of the year, as well as a Deggwā and several other manuscripts, all withillustrations that have been added at a later date to the original text but which have a characteristic style or use wellknown motifs. Cod. aethiop. 173 is also interesting since there are not many other such manuscripts, though at first sight the title ʿEnzira sebḥat simply suggests a common hymn.

    This article introduces a new witness to the Chronicle of John of Nikiu (EMML 7919). It analyses the text of this witness alongside the four previously known Ethiopic manuscripts of this work. The article considers the current state of research on the Chronicle of John of Nikiu, including an examination of the textual witnesses, the language of the original composition, and the biographical and historical information of the chronicler. The textual analysis of EMML 7919 demonstrates a strong relation with the text attested in ANL Conti Rossini 27, which suggests that EMML 7919 is highly valuable for the reconstruction of the Ethiopic version of the Chronicle of John of Nikiu. Finally, there is a catalogue entry for EMML 7919, which details the textual and codicological features of the manuscript.

    Abstract ; Am Ende des zweiten Weltkriegs hat die wiederhergestellte Tschechoslowakei die Mehrheit ihrer deutschen Bevölkerung vertrieben. Eine kleine Gemeinschaft von 200,000-300,000 blieben im Lande, die überwiegend aus Menschen bestand, die über benötigte industriellen Fachkenntnissen verfügten, in Mischehen lebten und/oder antifaschistische Aktivitäten nachweisen konnten. Aus verschiedenen Gründen, oft verbunden mit den politischen Realitäten des kalten Kriegs und der vorherrschenden antideutschen Diskriminierung in der Tschechoslowakei, verschwanden diese Menschen aus dem Blickfeld der Geschichte. In dieser Dissertation gehe ich zwei Fragen nach, die mit den kulturellen Bestrebungen dieser kleinen Gemeinschaft verbunden sind. Zuerst erforsche ich, ob es möglich ist, durch die Auffindung ihrer literarischen Bestrebungen, das Bemühen dieser Gemeinschaft ihre kulturelle Identität zu bewahren zu dokumentieren. Trotz der Einschränkung von Veröffentlichungsmöglichkeiten, wurde es klar, dass die Gemeinschaft literarisch tätig war. Ihre Texte habe ich in eine Bibliographie eingetragen, die Anhaltspunkte für weiterführende Forschung zu dieser Gemeinschaft bietet. Die zweite Frage nimmt die Erstellung einer Analyse des generellen kulturpolitischen Umfelds der Gemeinschaft auf sich. Durch die sorgfältige Lektüre der Gemeinschaftszeitung auf der Suche nach literarischen Beiträgen, war es möglich den Verlauf dieser Entwicklungen zu verfolgen, insbesondere die Auswirkung der Veränderungen, die von dem Slánský-Prozess, dem Prager Frühling und der Normalisierung ausgelöst wurden. Im letzten Kapitel dieser Dissertation biete ich eine Reflexion zur Frage inwiefern Bibliothekspraxis und –politik ermöglichen sowie verhindern die Erforschung von Randgemeinschaften und -themen. Ich behandle die Diskrepanz zwischen den Neutralitätsbehauptungen von Bibliotheken und der Auswirkung von menschlichen Entscheidungen und Neigungen auf Bestände und biete abschließend Vorschläge für Veränderungen. ; Abstract ; At the conclusion of the Second World War, a reconstituted Czechoslovakia expelled the majority of its German population. A small community of 200,000-300,000 remained behind, consisting mainly of individuals with specialized trades or skills, in mixed marriages, and/or with antifascist credentials. For various reasons, many related to Cold War political realities and endemic anti-German discrimination in Czechoslovakia, these individuals largely disappeared from view. In this dissertation I address two questions related to the cultural aspirations of this small community. First, I explore whether it is possible to document the community’s attempts to maintain a German cultural identity by tracking their literary efforts. Despite restrictions on publication, it emerged that the community did actively produce literature. I recorded these texts in a bibliography that offers an entry point for further research on the German minority. The other question delves into constructing an analysis of the broader cultural politics of this community. By virtue of close engagement with the community’s newspaper while searching for literature, it was possible to trace the arc of these developments, in particular the impact of changes set in motion by the Slánský trial, the Prague Spring, and the period known as Normalization. The dissertation concludes with a chapter where I pursue the question of the extent to which the practices and policies of research libraries enable and thwart research on marginal communities. I reflect on the gap between libraries’ claim to be neutral organizations and the impact of human decisions and biases on collections and offer some concluding suggestions for changes that would help libraries address critical gaps in the human record.

    Abstract ; The volume contains the results of the research project "Governance Analysis Project (GAP) for the Smart Energy City. The actualization of Smart Cities in the Metropolitan Areas of Europe and Italy" conducted within the PON "Smart Energy Master for the energy management of the territory" at the University Federico II of Naples (TeMA Lab of the Department of Civil, Architectural and Environmental Engineering). Smart Cities have gained increasing relevance in the scientific debate and in the national and international operational practice, emerging as one of the opportunities to rethink cities and, more generally, the life of urban communities. First reflections, researches and projects on the issue seem to converge towards the idea that a "smart" urban development should not only be a result of the yet necessary and unavoidable infrastructural endowment (physical capital) and of its continuing innovation, but also of the quality of human, social and environmental capital, conceived as strategic factors for development. A "smart" city is, primarily, a city able to effectively satisfy the needs of its citizens respecting the rules imposed by the environmental context. It is in such a debate that the project GAP fits with the aim to address Smart Cities in light of the administrative reorganization of Italian large cities as a consequence of the Law 56/2014. With a scientific approach, the volume provides a comprehensive and updated framework of how Italian and European Metropolitan cities are declining the Smart City issue and this thanks to the collection of a wide-ranging screening represented by more than 1.000 initiatives including researches, projects, interventions, technologies, etc. Furthermore, one original element of this research is that after an analysis conducted through indirect sources, a phase of dialogue with "stakeholders" was carried out (and of this there is a wide picture in the volume in which, by the way, are reported long excerpts of the interviews). This has enabled to give a clearer framework of what is now experimenting in Italian and European cities, avoiding being totally naive for interventions and projects labelled as "smart", but often lacking of innovative methods and contents.

    Abstract ; Das zweisprachige Emblembuch >Emblematum Tyrocinia: Sive Picta Poesis Latinogermanica. Das ist Eingeblümete Zierwerck oder Gemälpoesy< wurde im Jahre 1581 von Bernhard Jobin in Straßburg publiziert. Die typen- und motivgeschichtlich orientierte Analyse der strukturellen Ordnungsprinzipien des Emblembuches, vor allem der lateinischen und deutschen Texte von Mathias Holtzwart und der Holzschnitte nach Tobias Stimmer, zeigt den Gegensatz, in dem das Emblembuch zur literarischen Anthologie steht: Die besondere Form des Emblembuches erweist sich als das späthumanistisch geprägte Programm eines idealen "curriculum vitae". Die künstlerischen Techniken des Zitats symbolischer Bildmotive und literarischer Topoi in Bild und Text der >Emblematum Tyrocinia< bedingen hierbei die komplexen Bedeutungen der einzelnen Embleme und ihres Kontextes. Die in der Forschung zur Emblematik bislang vernachlässigten historischen Praktiken der Leser konnten im Fall der >Emblematum Tyrocinia< an zwei als "album amicorum" benutzten Exemplaren beschrieben werden. Diese Praktik läßt ebenso wie die deutschsprachige Vorrede Johann Fischarts, die zweite Auflage der Holzschnitte mit Texten Nikolaus Reusners (Straßburg 1587) und die künstlerischen Rezeptionen durch Matthias Merian dem Aelteren (Straßburg 1624) nicht nur Einsichten in die "Dispositionen" der Leser zu, sondern auch in die Intentionen des Verlegers. Die Emblembücher des späten 16. Jahrhunderts wurden im deutschsprachigen Raum zunehmend als "album amicorum" präsentiert - eine Entwicklung, an deren Anfang die Verlagsinitiative Bernhard Jobins steht und deren Verlauf von den Praktiken der Leser bestimmt wurde. ; Abstract ; The bilingual emblem book >Emblematum Tyrocinia: Sive Picta Poesis Latinogermanica. Das ist Eingeblümete Zierwerck oder Gemälpoesy< was published by Bernhard Jobin at Strasbourg in 1581. My structural interpretation of the emblem book, especially of the latin and german texts by Mathias Holtzwart and the woodcuts after Tobias Stimmer, concentrates on the iconographic themes and literary topics. In doing this the difference between the emblem book and the anthology showed: The specific form of the emblem book originated in the ideal programm of a humanistic "curriculum vitae". The artistic techniques of citation of symbolic images like emblems, devices and hieroglyphs and literary topics provide the framework for the complex significance of the emblems and their contexts. The historical reading practices of the >Emblematum Tyrocinia< are described by two copies, which were used by their readers as alba amicorum. Today the two copies are in Nuremberg and Augsbourg. Like the german preface of Johann Fischart, the second edition of the woodcuts with texts by Nikolaus Reusner (Strasbourg 1587) and the artistic "citation" of emblematic motives by Matthias Merian the Older (Strasbourg 1624), the two alba amicorum demonstrate the "disposition" (Roger Chartier) of the readers and the intention of the publisher. The german emblem books were issued mainly by the publishers as "album amicorum". A development which began with the initiative of Bernhard Jobin and the emblem book >Emblematum Tyrocinia
