    Der Band untersucht mehrdimensional das Phänomen des Innovationstransfers, am Beispiel von Wikis und auf der Grundlage des Web 2.0, innerhalb einer großen und komplexen Arbeitsorganisation eines chemisch-pharmazeutischen Industrieunternehmens. Als Innovationstransfer wird hierbei ein sozialorganisatorischer Prozess zur erfolgreichen Problembewältigung verstanden, indem eine als bewährt angesehene Problemlösung auf ein neuartiges Problem übertragen wird. Die Ergebnisse offenbaren, dass der Erfolg nicht nur von den objektiven Sacherfordernissen betrieblicher Wertschöpfungstätigkeit abhängt, sondern auch ein Verständnis für die subjektiv abweichenden Interessenlagen erfordert. Eine Beurteilung erfordert nicht nur die Kriterien der technischen Effizienz und der wirtschaftlichen Rentabilität, sondern auch der sozialen Akzeptanz. Im Rahmen von Verhandlungen wird ein Kompromiss gesucht, um ein anfängliches technisches Funktionsangebot hin zu einer sozialorganisatorischen Innovation zu entwickeln. Hierbei kommt der situativen Handlungskompetenz ein besonderer Stellenwert zu. Scheitern die Verhandlungen und misslingt ein Kompromiss, so scheitert auch der Innovationstransfer. This book conducts a multidimensional study of the phenomenon of innovation transfer using the example of wikis based on Web 2.0 within a large and complex chemical pharmaceutical company. In this context, innovation transfer is understood to be a social and organisational process used for successful problem-solving by transferring a proven solution to a previous problem onto a new problem. The study’s results reveal that the success of such innovation transfer not only depends on the objective material requirements of the business value adding activity in question, but also requires an understanding of the differing subjective interests involved. Assessing the transfer’s success not only involves considering the criteria of technical efficiency and economic profitability, but also social acceptance. In negotiations, a compromise is sought in order to develop a social and organisational innovation from a range of technical functions. Here, the ability to act in a given situation plays a particular role. If both the negotiations and the compromise fail, the transfer of innovation fails as well.

The volume Musikethnographien im 21.     In these new essays, a group of experienced ethnographers, a literary critic, and a historian of anthropology, all known for advanced analytic work on ethnographic writing, place ethnography at the center of a new intersection of social history, interpretive anthropology, travel writing, discourse theory, and textual criticism. The authors analyze classic examples of cultural description, from Goethe and Catlin to Malinowski, Evans-Pritchard, and Le Roy Ladurie, showing the persistence of allegorial patterns and rhetorical tropes. They assess recent experimental trends and explore the functions of orality, ethnicity, and power in ethnographic composition."Writing Culture" argues that ethnography is in the midst of a political and epistemological crisis: Western writers no longer portray non-Western peoples with unchallenged authority; the process of cultural representation is now inescapably contingent, historical, and contestable. The essays in this volume help us imagine a fully dialectical ethnography acting powerfully in the postmodern world system.     This paper presents field experimental evidence that limited information about workseekers' skills distorts both firm and workseeker behavior. Assessing workseekers' skills, giving workseekers their assessment results, and helping them to credibly share the results with firms increases workseekers' employment and earnings. It also aligns their beliefs and search strategies more closely with their skills. Giving assessment results only to workseekers has similar effects on beliefs and search, but smaller effects on employment and earnings. Giving assessment results only to firms increases callbacks. These patterns are consistent with two-sided information frictions, a new finding that can inform the design of information-provision mechanisms

    We introduce a novel methodology for adaptive targeted experiments. Our Tempered Thompson Algorithm balances the goals of maximizing the precision of treatment effect estimates and maximizing the welfare of experimental participants. A hierarchical Bayesian model allows us to adaptively target treatments at different groups. We implement our methodology in a field experiment. We examine the impact of three interventions designed to improve formal employment outcomes of Syrian refugees and local jobseekers in Jordan: one treatment to address liquidity constraints, one to address information frictions, and one to address challenges of self-control. Six weeks after being offered treatment, none of the interventions has a significant or meaningful impact on the probability that individuals are in wage employment; we estimate that our targeting algorithm had a positive but small effect on aggregate employment (approximately 1 percentage point). However, we find large employment effects of all treatments for refugees at the two-month follow-up, and suggestive evidence of four-month impacts for the cash grant; liquidity appears to be a key barrier to employment for refugees.
