    Die deutsche Identitätspolitik hat durch die Auseinandersetzung mit muslimischen Migranten eine neue Wendung erlangt. Thea D. Boldt analysiert diesen Übergang im Zeitraum von 2000 bis 2011 mit besonderem Fokus auf das Konzept des Multikulturalismus. Dabei zeichnet sie die Transformation Deutschlands von einer Nation des ius sanguinis zu einer multikulturellen Gesellschaft in einem diskursiven Spannungsfeld zwischen staatlichen und nicht-staatlichen Akteuren - darunter Vertreter muslimischer Verbände - nach. Vor diesem Hintergrund erscheint die deutsche Debatte um den »Multikulti«-Begriff als Vorreiter einer neuen europäischen Identität und einer neuen europäischen Migrationsagenda.

    Mit besonderem Bezug auf die Werke von Ulrich Oevermann und Fritz Schütze wird eine dichte Grundlegung der Logik rekonstruktiver Sozialforschung aus der Perspektive einer strukturalen Hermeneutik skizziert. Dabei werden vor allem auch die sozialontologischen Voraussetzungen dieser Methodologie dargelegt. Die erkenntnis- und wissenschaftstheoretischen Hintergründe ansprechend, werden die methodologischen Konturen und die Forschungsfragestellung dieser Richtung rekonstruktiver Sozialforschung mit Blick auf die spezifische Theorie des Subjekts und dessen Stellung in der Welt herausgearbeitet. Dabei kommen Strukturalismus und Hermeneutik zur Synthese. Soziologie kommt hierbei nicht ohne Psychoanalyse innerer Arbeitsapparate des Menschen aus. With special reference to the works of Ulrich Oevermann and Fritz Schütze, this book outlines the dense foundations of the logic of reconstructive social research from the perspective of structural hermeneutics. In this context, the author’s explanations focus on the social ontological prerequisites of the aforementioned methodology. Against the background of aspects of knowledge theory and science theory, the study emphasises the appropriate theory of the embedded subject in relation to the world around it and, in doing so, synthesises structuralism and hermeneutics. In this context, sociological theory cannot be appropriately understood without psychoanalysis of the deep mechanisms of the intra-individual work apparatus.

    Was verstehen wir unter dem Demos, dem Volk der Demokratie? Wie verändern sich die Verständnisse von Volk und „Wir“ im politischen Diskurs? Und was bedeutet das für die Veränderung von Demokratie selbst? Diese Fragen werden im vorliegenden Buch demokratietheoretisch und empirisch bearbeitet. Konkrete Analysen politischer Debatten in Zeiten historischer und aktueller Krisen zeigen, dass Umdeutungen von Demos und „Wir“ im politischen Streit immer auch eine Transformation von Demokratie anzeigen. Demokratieveränderung erweist sich als mehrschichtiger Prozess, der einer intersektionalen Perspektive bedarf. So zeigt sich, dass Umdeutungen von Demokratie zwar Demokratisierung begleiten können, häufig aber antidemokratische Agenden vorantreiben. What do we mean by the demos of democracy? How do understandings of the people and ‘we’ change in political discourse? And what does this imply for changes to democracy itself? These questions are addressed in this book from both a theoretical and an empirical perspective. Concrete analyses of political debates in times of historical and current crises show that reinterpretations of demos and ‘we’ in political disputes always indicate a transformation in democracy. Change to democracy turns out to be a multi-layered process that requires an intersectional perspective. This shows that reinterpretations of democracy can accompany democratisation, but often advance anti-democratic agendas.
