Spojenì morálnìho a čistoty: mìt čisté ruce – saubere Hände haben. This article analyzes and compares metaphorical concepts in German and Albanian idioms connected with 'hand'. These somatisms are studied on the basis of Lakoff & Johnson's theory of conceptual metaphors. The individual concepts are classified on the basis of superordinate concepts which occur in both languages. 'Hand' appears in metaphorical expressions e.g. as a symbol of control, power, ownership, superordinacy, activity, human relationships, protection, etc. The article further analyzes the individual concepts of these somatisms, e.g. the connection of morality and cleanliness: to have clean hands – saubere Hände haben.
