    This paper shows the necessity of analysing phraseological units in the light of pragmatics and proposes two ways of realizing a contrastive analysis with regard to lexicographic description and foreign language teaching. In diesem Beitrag wird über die Notwendigkeit der Untersuchung der pragmatischen Aspekte von Phraseologismen reflektiert und Vorschläge zu ihrer konkreten Erhebung und ihrer kontrastiven Analyse im Hinblick auf eine lexikographische Beschreibung und den Fremdsprachenunterricht gemacht.

    Taking the notion of frame as a base for lexical dexcription, we elaborate a cognitive proverb-model. This model serves as an instrument for the understanding and the translation of proverbs. It makes it possible to trace the proverbs' structural, semantical and pragmatical recurrences in the text. In this paper we show the influence the proverb has on the text and discuss translation problems by means of examples. Partinando da idéia de frame como base para a descrição lexical, elaboramos um modelo cognitivo de provérbios. Este modelo serve de instrumento para a compreensão e tradução de proverbios. Ele permite localizar as suas recorrências estruturais, lexicais, semânticas e pragmáticas no texto. Demonstramos, neste trabalho, a influência do provérbio sobre o texto, e discutimos os cuidados necessários na tradução através de exemplos concretos.

    This paper aims to demonstrate the proverb as a mental pattern that reflects and reinforces the values and norms of society through its use. We present the treatment given to women in German proverbs in opposition to the treatment given to men, showing the relationship between proverb and reality. O objetivo deste trabalho é mostrar os provérbios como padrões de pensamento que refletem e reforçam através de seu uso os valores e as normas de uma sociedade. Apresentaremos o tratarmento dispensado à mulher nos provérbios de língua alemã, contrapondo-os aos provérbios que tratam do homem, evidenciando a relação entre proverbio e realidade.
