In Nabokovs postum erschienenen "Lectures on literature" skizziert er in einem kurzen Essay sein Idealbild von good readers and good writers.

Sone" olarak çevirisinin, Katharina Reiss'in "içerik odaklı" çeviri modeline dayanarak nasıl yorumlandığı incelenmiştir. As a branch of General Literature Science, 'Comparative Literature' comprises of the comparisons and contrasts between two literary texts written in different languages. The aim of analysis, based on comparisons, is to determine the common or similar elements of two texts in terms of style, motif or theme. In order to understand the literary texts, stylistics and the analysis of linguistic codes in literary texts are one of the most essential tools that provide the reader understanding of a texts. Within Comparative Literature, the significance of translation is undeniable and comparing a text with its translation is within the scope of comparative studies. A comparative translation sample, which explores the similarities and differences between a poem and its translated version, constitutes the core of this study. Within this scope, in this study, William Shakespeare's "Sonnet 66" and Can Yücel's translation and interpretation of the poem titled as "66. Sone" were analysed to examine how the poem was translated in terms of Katharina Reiss's content based ('inhaltsbetont') translation model.

This article analyses the relationship between dreaming, art and identity in Franz Hohler’s Tschipo (1978) and Maggie Stiefvater’s The Raven Cycle (2012 – 2016) and The Dreamer Trilogy (2019 – ). At the centres of their fictional universes lies the fantastic ability of specific characters to take things out of their dreams; an ability which is both a plot element and a narrative principle. In Tschipo, dreaming is used in analogy to storytelling, with the storyteller inventing worlds that are so vibrant that the audience is unable to discern what is ›real‹ and what is ›just‹ invented or dreamed. In Stiefvater’s books, the character of the dreamer is revealed to be a kind of artist who thrives on the thrill of creation and transgression. In all the texts, the concept of taking things out of dreams is transgressive on two levels: Formally, it is used to subvert traditional storytelling and to question the role of the narrator. In terms of plot, it is employed in order to articulate nonnormative identities, lifestyles and desires. By using dreaming as a central narrative device, Tschipo, The Raven Cycle and The Dreamer Trilogy are therefore highly metafictional, revealing that literature addressed to younger audiences participates in a cultural conversation about fact and fiction, and draws on narrative strategies similar to those employed in literature addressed to adults.

In this article, we compare two translations of the novel "Verstörung" (first published in German in 1967) by the Austrian writer Thomas Bernhard: the Portuguese translation (1986, by Leopoldina Almeida) and the Brazilian translation (1999, by Hans Peter Welper and José Laurenio de Melo). The article is based on the premise that "Verstörung" is a book with a strong performative dimension; the disturbance which names the book is not only represented in the plot and the characterization of the characters, but also - and especially – in the style, in the language of the German text. We discuss and compare different solutions of translations in the Portuguese versions, as well as the paratexts contained in the two publications. We found two different postures in dealing with the specifics of the language in this novel, both with consequences for their performative effect. Finally, we suggest that these attitudes can be seen as reflections of different moments of literary criticism in relation to Thomas Bernhard.
